What got me, was as soon as Gay Marriage was accepted throughout Canada, none of the Catholic churchs, well.. very few, would marry two men. And then politics got involved, and it was like "what the fuck, Churchs don't HAVE to marry two men, cause the government doesn't control the church and vice versa" If the Religion is AGAINST the union of two people of the same sex, you can't force it into the religion. ahaa, sorry i started to rant a bit there :\

it's for sharing taxes and job benefits. before, gays and lesbians living together in a "domestic partnership" didn't get all the same rights as straight married couples, but now, because it is deemed a marriage, same-sex couples can now have all the same tax and insurance sharing benefits that heterosexual couples have.
being a resident of California, i am just ecstatic about it!
