While I personally don't drink, I think alcohol is can be good if you have it with a meal or have it after strenous activity such as doing yard work, etc. The idea of getting drunk has never appealed to me in light of doing or saying something that I might later regret and also not being able to enjoy the alcohol.
Not to sound paternalistic in anyway, but my belief is that alcohol should be consumed in moderation so as not to have any unfortunate incidents. At parties where someone can take advantage of you in a weakened state it is never a good idea to get drunk especially when there are people present who you don't know. Also, with some folks on these forums still going through puberty it is most likely a real bad idea to drink excess amount of liquor as I am pretty sure that it can negatively impact development.
My final note is that while drinking alcohol is not an evil in and of itself the actions that can result because you are drunk can create problems that far outweigh any pleasures that you have received from liquor. Basically, it is all right to drink, but I wouldn't drink so much as to where you are not conscious of your actions and can be taken advantage by others.
