Well .. you guys are right .. kinda.
I don't remember the registration process for this forum, but when I was running mine (which was over 5,000 members), I was getting 50 to 75 registrations a day from spammers and bots. Because my registration process required multiple image capachas and email verifications, only "people" managed to register. Actually, in the end I had to manually approve all members based off the information they registered with.
But it's fair to assume that at least some of those people are real. They saw the site, wanted to see the pics, and then saw how ugly all you guys were and then they ran off!
It's just a general thing in the bulletin board world on the internet. You just kinda shrug it off and prune the users when you get really bored.
I would actually be curious to see how many of the 500 registered and never came back, and how many of them have unconfirmed email addresses.
