It's not so much the pain of the actual process, but the recovery. Being put under is quite excessive, they can easily give you a local and keep you from being able to see or hear the process (not to mention .. you'd be like floating around talking to random objects like trees and dead celebrities .. it's quite fun). The cost difference in a hospital is incredible. For many weeks, you will not be able to indulge in the common pleasures that you might now.
