Well I'm just gonna let you know right now before you ever play NWN2...

The wizards and sorcerers don't work at all the way they do in other games. In NWN2, you're only allotted a certain number of casts per day per spell (or per spell level if you're a sorcerer). The closest to the typical mage from other games would be the warlock, but it gets a bit repetitive playing as one of those. If you ever do try out NWN2, I'd recommend starting as a fighter or a rogue.
