I love how idiotic fashion is. Seriously, I'll never follow that stuff because It seems like a waste of time.
Everyone follows fashion subconciously.
Sure looking nice, and dressing respectably is of utmost importance, especially in the business world we have all created over the past few centuries. Also i understand its importance in everyday law of attraction between male and female, and not to mention male/male, etc.
It is, a person is distinguishable within 8 seconds of meeting them. After those 8 seconds, that first image will be imprinted on that persons mind. Good fashion can create a good impression in those crucial seconds.
But having people say "Oh, we're now entering the polka dot era, because we say it.. thats what it is." Like, why don't they just take away our individuality altogether?
It doesn't take away our individuality. People dress in those clothes if they suit them. Eg. Topman. I hate that shop, but obviously everyone else loves it so much they all buy the same clothing. There must be some attraction to the clothing, whether it's genuine love for the item or trying to fit in with everyone else.
And ew, Polkadot is like 2004.
A person's clothing can symbolize who they are. (My friend for one loves to wear Tye-Dye shirts, and she is probably one of the most amazing persons' I know. And as friendly as anyone can come, with an edge of realism to her.. who'd expect a hippie to be a realist)
Then that is her own fashion. But as everyone knows, fashion comes in and out. Everyone uses it to an extent as I said in th above point. But it's not to say that a person cannot personalise fashion. Fashion isn't law, its more like guidelines of colour schemes and designs.
But there comes a time where they should be labeled extremists..
Fashon should never be labelled extremity. Fashion is nor extreme nor is it dull in a certain context. It depends whom the viewer is and what he thinks of the piece.
"Denim is now the in thing this year"
Totally is. Dungarees
I just see it as a way of taking control of the general public. I'm not one to generate public and private conspiracy thoughts, but it would be a fascinating way to do it.
I see quite the contrary! Fashion brings people together, to share intrests and thought and create an 'image' for everyone to enjoy. Surely that doesn't seperate the designers from the suvillians!
