No network is really 100% perfect, Verizon has it's perks, Cingular/At&t has it's perks and Sprint/Nextel has it's perks. I have verizon only because my parents pay so i don't really complain. But when it comes to switching phones, you CAN switch the programming online normally it doesn't work, so i call and in about 10 minutes it's done painless, but there are many better reasons to get gsm networked phones. My best friend has cingular and sometimes she'll have good service and i don't and vice versa. So i take what i have. but no network is perfect, so that's why it's a "built to what you want" type of thing.
Edit: Kudos to Verizon and Cingular, i don't hear all good stuff about sprint though.
