Advice Please

Here’s a brief back story to my problems. I’m 17 years old and I’m a senior in high school. My dad doesn’t know that I’m gay. My dad has been pestering me about getting a date to prom. When ever he we have the conversation he always ask me if I’m gay. I always tell him no because he discriminates against people all of the time. At the same time I have this guy that I like in one of my classes and I want to ask him to prom. The only problem is that if I did I would have to deal with my dads shit and at the same time I don’t really talk to him. Only my friends know that I’m gay.

OK, now you have to ask yourself which is more important, a date for prom or getting crap from your dad every day. If your dad is the kind of parent to throw you out for being gay, i'd go against telling him. If not, your going to regret not going to prom for the rest of your life.
A huge dilema, i know, but we all have to face the fact that just because we are different we are discriminated against. Well, good luck.

Fuck your dad, if he's a cunt, move out and get on with the live thats coming to you no matter what. I'm sorry, but homophobes shouldn't be allowed such naivity, they should have it hit their doorstep, then they may change their ideas.

Is the guy you like gay? Cause if not, it may be a waste of time asking him anyways, causing more shit than necessary.

Personally, ask a good friend of yours (girl) to go with, it wouldn't be all that bad. I'm going to prom with a girl, and damn happy with it I must say. If I want to hook up with a guy afterwards - so be it. The girl I'm going to prom with is the only person that knows.

As far as your dad goes, he seems like a prick. Maybe you aren't giving him enough credit though? Maybe he'd just accept you as a gay, who is to say? You didn't really give us enough info on him, maybe he'd be alright with it.

Well to clear things up I, the guy that I like is gay. I think I'm going to see if he's going to teen pride in D.C. this weekend.

My dad and his girlfriend actually hate the fact that gay people kiss and love each other. They believe that gay people shouldnt be allowed to make out with each other.

I can't decide this for you then, its too big of a decision - if you feel you'll get kicked out for it, settle on dating the guy... cause prom is something public, and it would infuriate your dad.

Your right, but I'm going to have to tell him sooner or later. I'm going to ask the guy if he wants to go to teen pride in D.C. on Saturday. Hopefully we can go together.

I just thought of the best time to tell my dad that I'm gay. I'll tell him on my 18 birthday which is on June 11 when he is at the dentist getting his teeth cleaned. This is probably going to be the only time that he wont be able to get mad at me or be able to say anything. I only wish that he was getting his wisdom teeth pulled instead.

Well yesterday I told my mom that I'm gay. She was a little mad though, but i guess it doesn't help if you suck a piece of twizzler for 40 minutes during Sex In The City movie.
