Question ...my parents are OBLIVIOUS. (A question)

Okay, so I'm out to every single one of my friends and acquaintances. Every single one of my friends are gay and my parent's know that. I'm out to my brother. I love musicals and theater. I'm in my school chorus and jazz chorus. I have NEVER had a girlfriend. WHY DO MY PARENTS THINK I'M STRAIGHT?! I've been dropping hints like crazy and they haven't picked up a single one! I want them to know but I have trouble just coming out and saying the word "gay", it's like the word gets caught in my throat on the way out! The only thing is that I don;t really ACT gay, I just like guys and only guys. Soo... without saying "I'm gay", how can I have my parents know about me!? There's gotta be more than one way to come out...

you have to tell them. it's possible that your parents may already know but are just in denial and are holding on to that strand of hope that you will bring home a nice girl. you won't know for sure unless you tell them.

Hahaha I'm in the exact same position. All my friends know but not my parents. I like musicals and stuff too but I never act gay at all. My friends actually said I was the straightest acting guy in the group haha. I have a feeling that my parents do already know though with me being rather open about it with my friends (and the amount of times I've had my 'friend' Stuart over >_>). I can't bring myself to just tell them though..

haha. my mom actually confronted me last year and asked if i was gay. i told her no cause i wasnt(and still am not) ready for her to know im bi(b60/g40).

but i luv musicals too, esp. "Wicked"! im infatuated with the book, musical and everything else!

my closest friends know im bi, but none of my family does. i wish i could tell them though cause its eating me alive!!!

maybe you could just say different words like, i like guys, not girls or something like that. or get a boyfriend or "boyfrined" and introduce him as your boyfrined... but what ever happens! good luck with it! and don't worry, i'm in the same boat.

yeah, usually when i come out to people i never use the word "gay." i always say something along the lines of "i don't get down with girls" or "i like dudes." thats always easier for me.

ouch that would be major drama... cannt you just see it now...
parents walk in "what the hells going on?"
"oh mom meet my boy friend. (put in name)"
mother jaw drop father look angry.........
you can guess rest of story...
it is better if you tell them dont let them find out the hard way... it will be bad if you do

Your friends are all gay? How did that happen lol?

Well erm, if it was me I wouldn't go out of my way to tell them, I'd wait for them to ask/find out.

Thats how my parents did anyway lol

So do they ask you what you've been up to with your friends? Just be blunt! "Oh today mother we re-incacted a dashing rendition of Act II in Joseph and the technicolour dreamcoat and then John tossed me off..."

No? :\

Aww call me irresponsible I am pretty much in the same position I have been out to my mates for about 3/4 months now and they have all been fine with it and recently my parents have been annoying me asking about a girl friend and I really don’t want to lie to them so decided I was going to tell them soon. Anyways I asked my mates for a bit advice and they all say just come out with it but unfortunately I cannot just say it the words will not come out of my mouth =/ I was thinking of many options like writing a letter or something like that, either way I don’t want them to find out the hard way i.e. from someone else. Mike =]

Yeah. It's hard to actually say the words for the first time. I wrote a letter to my mom like 3 months after i was out to everyone else.
