Yes. The touchpad on the macbooks don't have a right click, and I don't think the iMac mice have a right button, but if you get a USB PC mouse that can right click, it'll work on OSX ..
Now .. not many programs have right click functionalities .. but the common ones do.

Yes, MacBooks do have right-click functionality. You just put both fingers on the trackpad and then click, or, if it's set up that way, you could also just tap both fingers at the same time to get right-click, in the same way that you would to tap on a normal old PC laptop. And you can also scroll by putting two fingers on the pad and moving them as if you were dragging the page.iMacs do ship with things called Mighty Mouses. These do indeed only have one button. But they have sensors under the surface which detect which finger is pushing, and therefore decides whether to go with left- or right-click. You can also get these in Bluetooth, and they operate with any Mac of recent (like my MacBook). And if you have an older Mac without two-buttons or whatever running OSX, then you can hold down Ctrl (not Cmd or Opt or Fn) when clicking. This right-click isn't new to OSX, however, as it's been around since the days of System 7 and System 8 (the older MacOS), just without the support for two-button mouses. Your comments adds up to a very misleading view, as there aren't ANY applications in MacOS X that don't accept a right-click, although there may be some that don't have any need for one, and therefore don't have that programmed in. OSX is fully supporting with two or three buttoned mice. Oh, and using a Mac is like pure-bliss compared to the head-banging experience using a PC causes everybody (seriously, you just don't realise how far PCs are behind until you actually sit down and use a Mac). Got Mac? |

Sorry... just to explain:
YouTube - Track pad features for Apple laptops I apologise, some of it's about setting the mouse up, but it's the best i could find. And here's some MacBook superiority: Apple - MacBook - Features :-P |

I'm sorry .. but .. I was aware of the "two finger" thing for Windows .. didn't know it also worked in OSX (see my above comment for why). I will admit though, that the two finger thing is really annoying, and I find myself using an external mouse 90% of the time I use that laptop (which isn't much .. I haven't turned it on in weeks). Either way, I believe the original point trying to be made, was that Macs don't have a right button to click on .. you have to do the 2 fingers.

![]() PS... Oh... and Mike... What I meant was... what possessed you to buy a Mac to run Vista (which, IMHO, is complete crap)?Last edited by clubbyt; 09-02-2008 at 04:35 PM. |

Those who haven't used Vista enough to appreciate it, shouldn't bash it. Everyone hated XP when it came out, because it was different.

macs are harder to get used to when you've used a pc for most of your life, but they're cooler.

I'm not sure but the one I usually use is a eMAC, All white and you have to feel it up just to find the button to turn it on (lol sounds so dirty but it's true).
It runs faster then it use to but really, it seems like crap compared to pc. I know some of my friends just like them because Macs look pretty <-.-> |
