Default California Gay Marriage!!!

So today California legalized gay marriage if you didn't already hear! As a resident of Los Angeles, this is AMAZING news to me. Thoughts.... opinions?

I don't see the sense in Gay Marriage.

It actually grosses me out for some reason. I'll never have a wedding, and im quite happy because of it.

To be honest, straight or not, i was never going to get married.
I find the idea stupid, i can spend my time with someone i love without the need for a piece of paper telling me

I think it's a great day whether or not you want to get married... it is a human rights issue. And it is finally making heed!

Unfortunately it's going to take more than 1 state for anything to happen
But it's nice to see something being done for the gay community

Canada Acecpts Gay Marriage in every province. I remember when that happened, it was everywhere. And it was pointless, as dragon said - You can spend time together with that special someone without the title "married"

What got me, was as soon as Gay Marriage was accepted throughout Canada, none of the Catholic churchs, well.. very few, would marry two men. And then politics got involved, and it was like "what the fuck, Churchs don't HAVE to marry two men, cause the government doesn't control the church and vice versa" If the Religion is AGAINST the union of two people of the same sex, you can't force it into the religion. ahaa, sorry i started to rant a bit there :\

it's for sharing taxes and job benefits. before, gays and lesbians living together in a "domestic partnership" didn't get all the same rights as straight married couples, but now, because it is deemed a marriage, same-sex couples can now have all the same tax and insurance sharing benefits that heterosexual couples have.

being a resident of California, i am just ecstatic about it!

I was excited to hear the news as well. regardless of whether or not you want to get married, you should still grant those who wish to, the opportunity. i live in nevada which is right next to california so i'm pretty excited to have something so monumental happen so close to home.

The church would never sign up for it, at least not the Roman Catholic church. I'm not Christian anyway so I'll just get a fucking nice registry office if I ever tie the loop.

I'm off out to manchester to buy a frappe and grazia. Ciao x

Oh just to let everybody know a Christine group AKA group X has announced that they have enough names to appeal that law and make same sex marriage illegal. Oh at the same time a Christine group is trying to make it illegal for hotels to sell porn on there T.V.'s because they believe that it influences rape and child molestation in the hotels.
WOW the Christine's never seem to be able keep there heads out of the news. Nor do they ever seem to be able to stop protesting pointless things. I wonder if there ever going to stop constantly protesting with in the next 2500 years.

No offense to anybody that's Christine.
