I'll agree with you on that. Metro is a really well managed system and reliable but to think getting around solely on bus is ridiculous. Thankfully the Eastside Extension, Expo Line, Purple Line extension, and Regional Connector are being built. There might be a "car-free Los Angeles" in the future... *crosses fingers*

Well their is good news though.....I just saved money on car insurance by switching to GEICO, but now the money is going towards gas. lol. JK.
Well their good news though I invested about $2500 in oil companies over a year ago and now I have almost tripled my money, but all of the money would go towards gas for the next year.

Yeah, but everything in America is so spread out, and driving is a way of life. A rise in gas prices strikes deeper here than it does elsewhere.

True, but cars here cost twice as much compared to the US (taxes). So it's not really even.
Most people lease their cars from work and got free fuel, but now a lot of companies put limits on that. Fortunately, we do get free fuel. |

But America also has an obsession with looks over utility, so the majority of people here will forgo the cheaper, more efficient compact car for a giant, expensive, gas-guzzling Hummer.
It's retarded the way people here use giant SUVs and trucks when they have absolutely no need for such a big car.

It's true for most people. We also have a lot of gas-guzzlers and SUVs (granted, they're not as big as their US counterparts, but still). It's amazing that now, with the current gas prices at peak rates, SUVs are getting more and more popular. But in that sense, the gas prices are actually helping the world, because the switch to modern engines and smaller cars reduces pollution.
