Default Presidential Election 2008

I will be 18 in another 12 days Anyway, that means I will be able to vote in this upcomming election. I am a registered Democrat, and will be voting my primary vote for Dennis Kucinich.

Has anyone given thought as to whom they will be voting for, or would vote for (if you are under 18)?

I'm canadian mate :\ ahaha but i don't really know enough about the two main political parties and their leaders. I know this might be too much, but couldn't give me a bit of information on them could you, i still find it interesting. I remember when algore and bush were running.. in 2000, and I remember being dumbfounded when bush got presidency :\. No offense to the bush lovers.

Lucky bastard!

I have no idea who I would vote for at this point. They are all criminals in my mind.

I'll be 17 when it's time to vote... I'd give my vote to Obama if I could vote though.

I think that former Governor Mike Huckabee of Arkansas is a very good candidate. The thing I like about him is that what you see is what you get. I firmly believe that he has the correct personality to work well with the multitude of forces within and without Washington, D.C., and he certainly seems to have the tempermant necessary for the high pressure job of being President.

Actually, I am a minority on this website with my being straight.

However, Log Cabin Republicans are a truly fascinating group, and it never ceases to amaze me that such a group can exist within the modern Republican Party of all places.

Seems to me like Huckabee is just trying to use Jesus to get elected =/

Ouch, it hurts me to hear on a gay forum that there are supporters of candidates who quite clearly are against the ideals and political yearnings of the gay community.

I can understand being gay, and being a fiscal conservative. But I sort of expect you to cast you vote for your own liberty. As Ben Franklin said "Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." If you're willing to give up some civil rights for economic growth, you deserve no civil rights, period.

Well I could never support a pro choice candidate. Imagine that if they ever found a gene in a fetus that determined sexuality the amount of murders would go on.

We cant have civil rights if were not even allowed to live.

It has been proven that there is no 'gay' gene. Many scientists hypothesize that it is the variation in hormone levels in the womb during pregnancy that determines sexuality.

I guess if abortion is a bigger issue to you than civil rights, then you're going to vote that way. A gay man can be fiscally conservative, pro-choice, pro-death penalty... but if you are going to blatantly caucus with people who disagree with, no, hate your 'lifestyle' it is selfish (in my opinion).

Genes are related to being gay, genes are related to everything we pretty much are. They are indirectly related, not directly.. so getting rid of them, or changing them, will make no difference. And there are many hypothesis and theories on why people are gay, and a lot of them make sense.
