right then i can't be the only one who has experienced this,
you go out, people you dont really know, friends of friends and that kinda stuff or from new people you meet at college and there comes that point in the night when relationships become the point of general conversation, and then one person who doesnt know you at all asks have you got a girlfriend then? and of corse my friends look and laugh in the fact that they know im gay, and then you have to explain to the person and they give the short sentense which seems so judging of 'oh your gay'. then they spend the whole night asking questions, as they would say, that are gay orientated, such as when did you first realise you were gay etc. i mean what has society become when due to politcal correctness people force them selves to take to much of an interest in the homosexual section of society to make them seem like they are not homophobic? im going to start handing out cards to people i meet to avoid this situation: 'lewis, male, student, gay.' should avoid some akward moments and another little rant that i got out of a double date the other day, why do people use the term 'oh thats so gay' as a joke or light banter and suddenly go very quiet and apologise if they caused any offense. i think they cause the offense by infering the fact im gay afterwards. just use the word however you want, just not in a argumentative or threatening way sorry, needed a good type |

well the first thing, being gay is something interesting. We are less commonly found than hetros, so its just something to talk about. Like, talking to a fisherman about fish isn't prejudice. as for the ''oh you're gay'' line, it's just them saying like ''oh THATS why you dont have a girlfriend, dont want kids, said u prob wont get married etc.''as for gay as an insult my friends either dont say it, or know that I dont care.

i wasnt saying it was predjudice, its just the tone that annoys me, a simple oh your gay would be fine but its a oh your gay tone, they make it out to a much bigger deal than it is, i think i did make it sound worse than it was there, it was just not the timing as i was having a bad day and so i probably hyperboled everything

they're not rele making it out to be a bigger deal than it is, just a bigger deal than it SHOULD be. It is a big deal right now, we just have to get over that with apathy and wait a few hundred years

I know totally what you're talking about. It's especially true for me when someone uses gay or faggot or what have you as banter with someone, and then they instantly go quiet and say oh I'm sorry! I'm just like really I don't care but okayy if you say soo.

I could care less - I'd only feel bad for the friends that'd have to hear the answers to all those questions again. Its almost a good thing they'd ask. The only fear / worry i have about being gay, is that straight people don't realize it wasn't a choice, it was more or less donned upon us.

It does kind of bother me that when someone asks so many questions about me being gay. Yeah it's interesting but I feel like im in an interigation room (however you spell that). My friends say "oh that faggot" or "That is so gay" I guess because they find the things very annoying. At least when they say it around me they call me the "Good Gay"

Haha, I do get annoyed when people say, Oh that's so gay etc. most of my mates apologize, making a joke that they mean ghey, which is just spelling it with accent. As for the 'your gay' statement, well I sometimes find it interesting to see how much bullshit I can feed a person when they don't want to insult you, tbh most people don't care round college, or just realise not to bother asking, but when people do, I don't mind, there only asking questions, when they ask fucking stupid questions in a fucking stupid tone of voice then I get annoyed because they are being fucking stupid.
