Default God This Pisses Me Off

'oh yeah i have no problem with gays'

well why should you? i have no problem with straight people but i dont say it to everyone.

it just really fucks me off, i think 'i dont care if you have a problem with it, it should be commen knowlegde, you dont walk up to a dwarf and say 'oh im really fine with your abnormal height''

anyway, discuss.

lmao - thats true. i agree with you - its different if its your friend you just come out to, or they just find out and they are like "i'm fine with you being gay" ... mainly cause it actually affects them. (Your being gay) in some way.

But random people just telling you that, or people you don't give two shits about - i'd imagine its pretty annoying.

my friends r kinda wierd in the aspect of this. i tell them im bi, cause i kinda am, but im like 95% gay. but my friends still think its an insult to call sum1 gay, and ive basically stopped denying it!

but every1 is always like "oh yea, its ok that ur bi"

btw, its not ok, its perfectly fine!!!

so it kinda pisses me off a little...

Agreed with Adstratus, it should be basic human instinct and I should KNOW they have no problem with it, I shouldn't need to be told. I think they want a thanks from it. I just say 'yeah so you should be'.

a friend came out to me....we talked about it got months and then 1 day we were alone i dont even remember how it all came about but he was like saying how he expects that he will lose friends over this (being gay) and i was like Y?? and he said people are scared of what they dont know..i said thats true but if they are true friends they will always b your friend....
A week later he said thanks to me for saying that. and i was like its just how i feel. and then a realized he came out to me.........we have talked about it since and hes been cautious on who he has told

Mmm yeah I think it's kind of like a "I'm no threat to you". but it still is kind of pointless. I know someone that said to someone "It's okay that you're black." and got in so much shit for it. so why should it be okay to say that to a gay person?

That is pretty annoying, but then so is the whole:
"Oh that's so gay...no offence" thing
If they thought it was that offensive then why did they say it...
I don't actually care if anyone calls stuff gay, I just get annoyed by the "no offence" part

Yeah, its basically furthering your own knowledge (much superior to theirs). I'm fine with the whole your gay thing too, I say it way too often, but no matter, when people relate the 'gay' term they use and the term of a homosexual, its pointless.

I don't find it annoying so much as amusing. I think that it's only really in the last decade or so that homosexuality has really moved into the "mainstream" as it were. I think it's going to take a while before homosexuality becomes mundane to most people and until then I'll just enjoy watching them try to dig themselves out of holes they aren't in because they think I'm that easily offended.

FINALLY! Wow, silly silly me for thinking that I was the only person who felt that way. "Oh yeah, I have no problem with gays"...wtf...I , on a daily basis, actually hear people around my campus say that. Okay, time to ask "Is there supposed to be a problem?" Lol, I should actually ask that question one day.

I agree with Adrastus too. And I also agree with Seth. We shouldn't need to be told that. What, am I supposed to say "thank you" or something? Idk, I just feel that there is a bit of presumption in the statement "I have no problem with gays"

Yeah, I suppose it's just treir way of saying that they're proud. Like I have a friend called Oli Jones, who told me he really admired what I did, because it took such a brave person, which meant to much to me. So much more than 'I have no problem with you'.
