I believe that by clicking on this thread and posting will probably offend someone, whether that someone is on here or not. And as I mentioned before in my loss of faith was not because I am gay actually. Whilst doing my research on paganism/wicca I've found that so much from the Christian church is from these two religions, copied, but with different names. God may exist, but i believe if he does, it is found through many different forms, also i can't believe for one minute that there is only a "male" form of god. Look at our planet, EVERYTHING has an opposite, (at least in essence) from male/female right down to simple charges of positive and negative. However thats my outlook, there are plenty more out there.
Cheers mates : )

personally, i was raised catholic and i still consider myself catholic. and like another poster stated earlier, i plan to stay catholic. however, i have no problem with people who don't share the same beliefs as me. its your decision and what you choose to do is nobody's business but yours.

I'm an Atheist. And that’s it. I believe there’s nothing we can know except that we should be kind to each other and do what we can for each other. -Katherine Hepburn. She really couldn't have said it better.

Let me just say that this is a very touchy subject for me, as well as for many others( so it would seem)
But i will say that i do belive that there is some kind of higher power, or something to the sorts...other than that, i am really not sure. Well i guess you could say that i am big on spirtality...as well as my mom, but i am not sure if you would consider that a religous belife or what. |

i would not say you should really class your self in this... but me i am Gala'ean if any of you have studied, and REALLY looked into religion it is lost but you may just find this one. you really cant find it though... i was introduced by my godfather, id never heard of it until he showed me some things he has and taught me about it. if you want the gist... imagine if you could take all of the religions of the life time even push past that to philosophy, science, and then culture, then sort them out, find the best way of living those, then creating a harmonious balance... you would get the Gala'ean religion. those who fallow it, and actually fallow it, and in true you really do define it your self, but those that live, they become more godlike. so to speak... and i mean i'm not trying to say it is "THE ONE TRUE WAY" or anything like that. i just understand it and it is in my opinion to be the best way of living...
but if you have any question i would answer them. i post some of the principals on my space, aka blogs. but i would be more than happy to share somethings with you. "are there not many individuals in this world, is there not many ways of living. is there not more than one science and so many ever changing. the individuals of this world are many, and all are different... gods children, he loves and treasures all, should we strive to do thusly also." as for the matters on god, "religion is defined by ones self" "religion is the manifestation of god threw single individuals." i believe in god, but i believe a true and just god, this world is cruel, is he not god... is he not above the world and more... i think that is why he would be god. i don't know where all the religions got what they have... but i don't think i does god justice. i am simply me... and i believe in a great many things. if i have said anything that has offended anyone, then you have my apologies... it was not my intentions, this topic is complex and a difficult on. but you have a basic answer. ![]()

Religion has never been a topic that interested me. I was brought up Christian [Church of England] but it never meant anything to me and I stopped going to church at about 9 perhaps...
I'm atheist and don't believe in a higher power. But I believe in Karma and that those who do good will get it in return. Which is why I always treat those how I wish to be treated and how they treat me initially. Religion will always be a touchy subject but you can't say anything without offending someone somewhere, hense political correctness to the n'th degree. Everyone has their beliefs. If they pose no negative impact on another person there's no problem. If we want to be accepted we also have to accept them in return.

I would like to consider myself Unitarian Universalist, because I believe that all religions have some sort-of truth to them, but I wanna find out myself what's really going on. And like, seriously - who in their right mind would take the words of some man that wrote a book and said it was the word of GOD, and like... believe in it? If I wrote a book and told everyone that GOD told me to write this, would they believe me? No. Plain and simple.

I know, but does it make that big of a difference though? If I got me and my friends to write a book over a period of... let's say like, 10 years or something, claiming that GOD told us these things, are people gonna seriously believe it?

If now, then no one would believe you since the only word that most people believe in is the word of science. If then, then yes most people will believe you because the Bible (or any religious text) that preached loving your neighbour and explained why the things the way they are (sort of like their "science" of that time) then, yes. Most religions preach about good and spreading good. It also provides hope for those people who are otherwise hopeless and desperate, so having faith in something will ease their suffering. I'm not preaching about any particular religion, but this is how religion was back in those days (or rather how Christianity was back then). It was only through time and corruption of the Vatican Church did they bastardize the religion to manipulate people. |
