I am a laid back pagan. I don't label myself under any particular branch of paganism, I just love nature and my religion. I seem to try to find a scientifical answer to everything, and my religion suits this sort of thinking well. I believe in a "higher" power.. but I more believe it to be the energies around us. My parents are pagan and have been since I was small, and it just felt so right to me. I have never been so sure about something like I am my religion.

Not too into the whole "new-age" thing (wicca, etc.), but then again I don't label myself under any particular branch.

One of the best things about paganism is that you are not bound by some stupid moral laws like many other religions.. you are free to be homosexual, bisexual, straight, listen to death metal, eat little baby puppies, eat little babies, all that good stuff. Lol.

I don't afix myself to any strict philosophy, and despise religion, it is the source of most pain and struggle in the universe, as well as preaching a dogma of strict obedience to an unquestionable and incomprehensible being, who likes to punish us regularly and emphatically. of course that is mainly western religions, I don't know much about eastern or african religions, but I still believe that any organised belief systm is bad for the soul, I have faith in a higher power, but not a being, I have faith in other people, more than in a higher power, by faith I probably mean something different to other people, I always question my faith, I always see it tested, and I always return to it. Its not a 'Faith' faith either, just a mixture of hope and belief.

You shouldn't despise religion. It gives people hope and comfort. I know it causes grief, but I wouldn't even begin to say most pain and struggle. Sure they usually hate gays, but they take away pain in times like death. Most pain and struggling in the world are caused by Death, and religion causes very few deaths. Really the only deaths attributable to religion are those brought on by such things as 9/11.

Were we destined to suffer in hell after creating us as homosexual?

Just kind of an interesting thing to think about.
i saw a similar website and i found it interesting...
im catholic but really just because my parents baptized me into that faith
i personally think even though the government claims that church and state are separated, i think the catholic church still has an influence on the government. america claims to be a free country and equal rights but the church is the one saying its wrong to be gay, and the members in congress also have a religion so they are probably going to vote on laws based on what they know, which is what their religion told them was right.

What really bothers me is that is true. Well, The State can say "Church, go against (I am not for the whole do not be gay thing or not having same sex marriage) your rules because this is a free country. The Church is to stubborn for that kind of thing and the state would probably do nothing about it if they did because they are also stubborn.

I did not read any of the past replies so maybe someone already mentioned this. Just because I am a Roman Catholic does not mean I will turn my back on God because he hates homos. My view is that he does not hate homos, man stated that rumor. I believed he creates gays in order to keep the population from being too much. If you wanna argue what about the bisexuals and gays with kids. They are not fucking women as much has they could and have more offspring. I am a Roman Catholic plus a Buddhist, and I ignore what man said and paid attention to God. Just because man says one thing does not make it so.

i grew up Catholic, but denounced my faith when i came out, because homosexuality is against the Catholic Doctrine.

now, i really don't have a religion, per say, but i am spiritual.

it has occurred to me, and countless others, that every major religion boils down to two things, man must achieve a form of Enlightenment, Christhood, Nirvana etc... (a for in which we become one with God), and that we are to treat others as we would want to be treated when we are here on earth

I am a very religious Catholic. Yes, the Church's views on homosexuality are total bullshit. Still, just because the Church officially denounces homosexuality, that doesn't take away the beliefs that I firmly believe in. Also, the Catholic Church is a religion of love. At a leadership level it claims that homosexuality is wrong, but Catholic churches are generally one of the most open-minded Christian religions. I know that at my parish, my parents sought the counsel of my priest when they found out my sexuality and he couldn'ta been better. He basically said to never let anyone, even the Church, get in between you and God. I just find my religion to be perfect for me, and I totally respect other people's religions. I encourage anyone who is angry at religion because of how it treats the GLBT community to not count God out of their lives because some assholes in power of religion said that God hates you because you're a homo. We all know that isn't true, and I hope no one gets turned away from religion because that.

i dont associate myself with any religion. i think religion and god are two diffrent things.

i think god is more of an universal life force and religion is a physical man-made seperator. i don't believe god is a person.

i think there is a unifying energy/force........ i dont know what that makes me.

Im agnostic but anyone who is looking to worship a higher power I reccomend looking into progresive methodists along with world churches which are gatherings of all diffrent types of religions and accept anyone and anything.
