I got back today from a 4 day trip to visit my boyfriend. I had allot of fun, but when we hung out with his friends he would always join them when they went to have a smoke.

I didn't want to say anything because I know that he has been under allot of stress lately, but It just drove me crazy for 3 days before I finally had to leave the room in tears.

He came and talked to me, and we had a discussion about it, and he said that he would quit smoking just for me, because he doesn't want to risk loosing me, I didn't even have to ask him to quit, I just said that I don't like it when he smokes in front of me, and than he said that he promises he is going quit for good, just for me, no matter how bad it gets, and I think that is the sweetest thing that any guy can do for his boyfriend, and it reminds me of why I love him so much

After we finished talking about it, we went back into the room with his friends, and he didn't do it again, every time that his friends would light up, he just sat on my lap and hugged me, and I haven't seen him smoke since.

sorry that I turned this simple little question into a story, but I find myself doing it allot. So........ anyways, what would you do if your bf/gf smoked in front of you? and if you smoke, what would you do if your bf/gf wanted you to quit?

Well...I guess it depends on the person.
I don't really mind smoking, but I wouldn't want to make out with my boyfriend if he was smoking because...it would gross me out. I would be able to taste it -_-
But yeah, your boyfriend sounds like a really great guy...and the thing is, unless he's addicted, not smoking is just the easier and better way to go.
I guess I would tell mine to quit. Because smoking is gross (even though when offered I do it, but that's like very rarely)

It depends how much they smoke. I see no real problem with it, but obviously smoking loads wastes money and is bad for mental health as well as you heart & lungs and crap like that

i know tonnes of people who smoke, i rely hate the smell of smoke and if ur snoggin or hangin round with it, it dus sorta make u feel sick ..well me anyways =/

smoking is disgusting, big turn-off actually (in my case) not to mention its bad for you. I've had a few cigarettes, once or twice, but under the circumstances I wasn't in my right mind anyways (bit of alcohol does that : \ ). If it was like a one night thing, i could care less, but constantly = gross.

I would be mad if they didn't tell me they smoked. I wouldn't want them to smoke though, kissing someone after they smoke isn't the best... so I would imagine.

i'm not exactly a fan on smokers either. however, i guess i would be able to deal with it if my boyfriend smoked. as long as he didn't do it too much or smoke around me.

lol pretty almost all the people i know smoke even the guys ive dated smoke, one even stop while he was dating me because im not a smoker it was so sweet of him to do so =).
but smoking isnt such a big thing to people like to use to be.

I don't smoke, not cigs anyway but I guess I wouldn't mind if they smoked cuz basically all my friends do and a lot of my family do, so I'm used to it

I don't see the problem... I'm not a smoker myself, but if EVERYONE else is, then I just feel a bit stupid not smoking. I think you overreacted. But if you did have a problem with it you probably should have just said instead of running out crying...

Who went crying again?
It't not that bad. Took me atleast a year to get hooked and after a lung infection the doctor said my lungs were very healthy. Don't see what the biggie is about!
