I'm a Theatre-queen, but have never really listened to the original b'way cast recording. I am now after I saw the film. It is fantastic. I generally don't like musicals to film, but Tim Burton, Johny Depp and Stephen Sondheim pulled this one off well!

Where is it playing? It should be a good show. The stage show is different in a few ways. For instance Pierelli's scene with Sweeney is longer, Beadle Bamford and the Judge do quite a bit more singing in the show.
Do you like the B'way soundtrack or the film better? |

Thanks, Oprah. ^^,
And Matt, I believe it's playing in all theaters... Unless you mean the actual musical, in which I have no idea. But I did watch the version that On-Demand is offering currently. From the 1980's... I liked Tim Burton's version way better... The one on On-Demand didn't have very much in common with Burton's film... No Judge Turpin, Beadle, or Johanna... "Benjamin Barker" never came up in the movie, and Lucy was only mentioned once. Completely different storyline and ending that wasn't as exciting as the one in the new movie.

I think I was misunderstood there...
I meant that the movie that is currently on On-Demand with Comcast is completely different from the original theater version and the 2007 Burton version. I haven't seen the theater version; only the amazing one with Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter and the one from about twenty years ago on On-Demand.
