Age is only a number - so long as you can get along and get past this "number" then be my guest. You are both of legal age - you have nothing to worry about mate. Just be careful and don't be foolish. Heed this advice for any relationship you may become part of, whether they are younger older or your mere peer.

It's fine if you're both legal and there's an age difference. There are obvious problems otherwise.

I think its perfectly fine, my straight friend has been dating his girlfriend for 3 years now and they are 5 years apart. I dont think 5 years is that much. It really depends what the ages are I think.. Like a 17 and 12 yo shouldn't be dating.. but a 20 and 25 yo.. thats just normal.. I think since your 17.. you can make the right decision.

well, as long as youre a legal adult it shouldnt be a problem...
personally, that is too old for me, but again, that's just me it is kinda bothersome if you were like 16 or 17... then youre kinda breaking the law...

Depends on the age of the youngest one. I think thats a fine age difference, its just a case of whether you meet on the same maturity levels.

This is sort of ironic. I'm dealing with that same dilemma, but the only difference is that I'm 17 and he's 22. He's really cute though. I know what I should do and I know what I want to do. I only wish that I could do the smart thing and walk away before I get hurt, but the only reason that I'm not going to is because this is a learning experience. Don't get me wrong I don't want to get hurt, but my passion is over powering my judgement.
You should do what ever your heart tells you to do, but what ever you decide to do just make sure your prepared to be ready for what ever is to come from it.

Legal consent is 16 so if your 16 you can date anyone older than you, but dating someone 5 years younger than you would not be that bad, as long as you dont have sex. Unless you are a sex maniac and have to have sex with everyone you date, which you hopefully, for your sake, are not.
