well, you see, i lead a "clean" (some have called it that)

im a vegetarian and im straightedge

and i would lie to get with a guy who is at least a vegetarian and is also straightedge... and ive found vegetarians and vegans, but none that are straightedge so im beginning to think that i may be the only gay living a sober life (i know thats not true, but in my local area it is).

do you think im picky? should i stick to my rubric or should i just give a guy the benefit of the doubt despite indulging in the things that i dont (meat and controlled substances)?

Your way too picky. You shouldnt hate or dislike a guy because hes not like you. You should like them for who they are and personality. I am dating a vegetarian and I eat meat. In my opinion your just wayy too picky.

He didn't say he hated, or disliked someone cause he wasn't vegetarion/vegan (w/e) and a straightedge, he just said his preferences are that he wants a guy like him.

And it does make sense to have someone like you, it'd make life a lot easier. The only problem is, trying to find a guy who wants to lead a sober life is a VERY VERY rare find, and it'd be hard enough to find gay guys at it is. Do you think you could cope if your boyfriend liked the odd party? or would you absolutely hate him for it, and try to change him. If he cares enough about you, he wouldn't force it on you, and might change, but thats not your decision for him

Just think about that, cause If you try to change people to your liking. Well, i don't think that is right. If someone came into my life and was like "You are no longer allowed to drink and party to have a good time" i'd simply just tell them to go fuck themselves.

i honestly think that it's hard to find someone that is like you. like, i'm pretty picky when it comes to guys but like sometimes i find it easier to just accept the differences between me and a guy.

well, i like to go to the occasional party, but i never have to drink... im havin fun anyway!

i suppose i can get over a guy if he drinks... but if he smoked or used drugs... NO WAY... im allergic to tobacco anyway...

but at least finding a vegetarian/vegan is important to me... it would make going out a lot easier, and i wouldnt get just a little grosses out if i kissed him...

you seem to think if you find a veggie, straight edged guy ull be like ''oh lets date!''. he could be boring or u may just not like him. just look for a guy u like and if he drinks, get over so does almost everyone else on earth. If he smokes, get him to quit. if he does drugs a lot, dont bother with him. I can understand wanting a veggie, cos ull get meat when u kiss him, otherwise ur WAY too picky

Im not at all a vegetarian, but I am very straight edge a lot like you. I also find myself wishing to find a partner that was straightedge like me, but so far i've had no luck with anyone so I'm not being too picky lol

Well, for me, its hard enough for me to find any guy, but I will never be in a relationship with a guy who smokes at all. I hate guys who drink in excess as well, a drink or two a few times a week is ok for me. And if they take illegal drugs I will date them if the drugs wont kill them. And I dont care what the guy eats.

i actually have found one guy, ONE SINGLE SOLITARY GUY who is indeed a straightedge vegan, and he's gay!

too bad i'm not really attracted to him... WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH ME?
