Here's a brief summery of what happened. I went with a friend to teen pride in D.C. and there were about 300 bisexual, gay, lesbians and transsexuals there. About 70 of those people were gay males. Out of those 70 guys only 20 of them were near my age. Out of those 20 guys I was only attracted to 4 guys. I told my friend that came with me that I was only attracted to 4 guys and he said that I have high and weird standards. I told him that my that I liked guys who were skinny/average with medium to long hair that's any color except for red. The guy also needs to be between the ages of 18 to 22. Does any one think that my standards are to high?

I put a little High - cause im more or less the same as you are, ahah.. kinda creepy actually. And I am aware that mine are a bit high. Only thing that is different , is they have to be at least somewhat straight acting - Im not into the overly flamboyant guys.

I think you're getting standards mixed up with idealism, It is nice to idealise and think, yeah I want this guy *image in head*, but maybe a little bit of leway.

But if you were only attracted to about 4/80 then yeah, you standards are probably a little too high as well.

Also, if you are 17, then you should be aiming for 15-19 I think.

Well considering the fact that I'm going to be 18 in another two weeks I would hope to keep everything legal. I have a rule. Its called the age limit rule. I will not go out with a guy thats more then 2 years older then me. I'm also not going to go out with anybody thats 2 years younger then me.

I'd say that it's all a very subjective, personal matter -- a standard that may be rather exigent in one person's perception can be perfectly within normal limits to another. These things tend to vary so much that I don't even bother to try and classify them anymore!

Judging from the breakdown that you made, I would be inclined to say that your standards are a little on the high side, but I think that this is more a question of preferences, rather than standards (because your choices were based on several factors that you were very keen upon - from age to specific appearance). I'd say that it's a good thing, because it shows that you're a person who knows exactly what he wants and who won't waste that much time in figuring what is attractive and what is not.


As for me... I chose the Normal option, but I think the truest one would have been A Little Low - I live in a part of the world where one does not have the luxury of being picky about such things. I have my own personal preferences, but I am willing to toss them to the side when I meet another gay person with whom I can call upon common tastes and experiences.
