Online Relationships

They always end up in heatbreaks for me.

Like,
you get to know their actual personality so it's not based on looks or sex and all that stuff,
That's what i like best about it

But the guy i was talking to,
we talked on the phone for hours everyday,
I even started staying up all night just so i could talk to him for 10 minutes in the morning,
He helped me through so much and just made me feel like i mattered to someone

But yeah,
It turns out he's just been telling everyone the SAME EXACT things
cause i guess it works for him

When i'm not on the phone with him,
he's on the phone with some pretty nasty, pathetic people

I just found out a little while ago though
so i'm still really upset

I guess i was just stupid for thinking it could ever work out.

Soooo,
anyone else doing this whole online thing or am i as desperate as i feel?

I consider myself to have had 2 of these such relationships (and if you asked both of the guys, they would probably deny the entire thing .. because they're pricks). One of them .. I would wake up at 3am to talk to him before he went to school (since he was east coast, and I'm west coast). He enjoyed it, but told me that's something he'd never do, not even for me .. that kind of hurt.

I really don't see how you can get the full emotion and romance of a relationship online. Being able to call them is a big thing, but how often are you able to sit in his or hers arms showing them how you really feel (and I don't mean sex). Face to face contact can be really .. really emotional. During the time I was with these 2 guys .. I was a strong believer in distance relationships .. but now after 2 failures and the pain I've gone through .. I'm starting to realize that it might not be as great as it looks. You have to ask yourself .. what's going to happen? Someone has to budge if you want the relationship to last. Someone has to relocate at one point to be closer, or it will most likely end in heartbreak.

On a side note .. I get to go see Wicked again in 2 weeks

well maybe that wasn't the best choice of words but hes talking to people that i know and he doesn't that are just really sleezy,
and some of them are even girls that aren't my favorite people

I did that same exact thing where i got up at 3 cause i live in the west cost and he lives on the east
but he lways told me he'd do the same thing,
but whenever i asked he made up some stupid excuse

But i think i'm starting to get that it takes a lot to do the whole long distance thing, it just makes things more complicated for me

And Wicked really is amazing

Thats bullshit, you can be whoever the fuck you want over the internet, and no one would be none-the-wiser.

Don't waste your time with internet relationships.. make internet friendships, and use that to build your confidence to talk to guys who are "real". Internet relationships are just a way of manifesting your insecurities. The person on the other side is probably just laughing at you.

i've done internet relationships before.. and sometimes they work sometimes they dont.. it depends on the person really.... like i dated this one guy through the internet and well... i thought me and him would work out perfectly until i found out he likes someone else and dumped me for him... my heart was broken.. and honestly i dont think internet relationships are an act of being desperate... just cuz you found someone in a different state doesn't mean anything.. you can always try to find a plan to get to see each other.. that's what i was doing.. i was saving up money so my x bf could come see me... until he dumped that is lol... but that's besides the point.. you got ur heart broken.. it is hard to trust ppl through the computer.. i suggest in the future IF you do try it again... REALLY get to kno the person.. see what happens you know?... tlk to them see how they react with you..
