I like ITF a lot better. That's probably mostly because of the sensei, but I think I like the style better too. The patterns are different, and some of the kicks are a bit different. I'd say WTF focuses more on sparring and yelling and less on focus and technique. WTF just seems a bit more violent.

That's cool, most of the schools around here are WTF and that seems to be the style that you can compete in most so I've been thinking about switching over. When you started training in the 2nd style of TKD did you start all the way back at white again? Did they promote you at a faster rate because you already knew so much about TKD? Gimme some info on that if you can, heh. Oh, and good luck on your test! I hear BB tests are a pain in the ass. |

They let me keep my belt I was at, but it took a long time for me to learn all the patterns to start advancing again. I don't remember how long I stayed a blue belt after I switched over, but it had to have been at least 6 months. If you learn patterns quickly that I doubt you'll have a problem. And depending on the teacher you probably could start advancing faster.
And it is true that there seem to be more WTF tournaments than ITF ones. But I've always liked the ITF tournaments better. ^^ And thanks, I can't wait to test.

I wanted to get to the fighting already and kick some ass hole's balls! once I left the team everyone started fighting and I couldnt get back in man that sucked. Well I dont have too many fights actually its rare for me to get in fights since i get along with most people (that dont know im bi that is...) None the less I do know how to protect myself and can fight. |
