Default Martial arts

Hey everyone!
Just wondering, who has taken a form of martial arts..what form? And how far did you get?

I grew up learning Jeet Kun Do from older and experienced family members / their friends. And I took 1 class of it, but it was a beginner class and I was way past beginner's level, so I didn't even bother.

I also self-taught kendo to myself. Basics aren't very hard but I'm no master!

My father made me learn to throw knives. Not really a martial art but I have amazing aim and hit my targets perfectly!

And I got up to a low green belt in taekwondo, but it was taking too much time away from schoolwork and violin (my 2 main priorities) so I had to cut it. I'm not too crazy about tkd style. Not as flowing as Jeet Kun Do.

But I haven't practiced my jeet kun do since I was 13 or my taekwondo since I was 15 -_-

Butttt yeah what about you guys?

i studied ITF Taekwondo for a couple years, I'm thinking about stating up in MMA or Muay Thai. I'm not sure, I've been arguing with myself to settle on a style now that I've moved and I'm settled here and can resume training in something.

I took a free month of hapkido! Well i actually only went to 3 classes. Clearly i'm still a white belt i always think it woulda been fun to continue but the studio wanted 1,000 a month! That's probably why it went it of business shortly after

Hmmm, would Capoeira count by any chance..?
I do a little mixed with my own style of fighting.

I was in Kung-Fu for about a year. It had many other derivatives of martial arts mixed in though. I got to a purple belt which is like 3 belts away from black. Although I was the best in the class, it just wasn't my thing anymore. Sooo I quit.

it depends Capoeira is more on the art end of the spectrum and less on the functional fighting style end.

not saying you can't fighting using Capoeira though

Ooh, I've been looking at Hapkido too, it looks pretty cool, plus it's a Korean MA so it's automatically the sh*t.

i stayed in busan which is the major city besides seoul (which is the capital) ... there aren't any houses there, which was kinda crazy, they're all like super tall apartment buildings n i stayed on like the 19th floor of one (my friend lives there ... his family lived here for a year, then he came alone n stayed with me for 3 months n then i went n stayed with him for 3 months) ... it's pretty safe, like i was allowed to leave on my own n everything ... there r places there called pc bongs (or that's what it sounds like), where you pay a little $ to use like super fast computers n sometimes they look like caves n stuff ... ok i can c this will b really long if i talk about everything, so if there's anything specific about korea u wanna knw, just ask lol

I've been doing different martial arts since I was six. I've done ITF TaeKwondo, WTF TaeKwondo, and Aikido. I got to a green belt in aikido, the belt before black in WTF, and am testing for blackbelt in ITF in several weeks. I've also done fencing but that's beside the point...

SO COOL! do you like WTF or ITF better? i know their kata is different and maybe a few techniques here and there. does WTF have much more emphasis on sparring and all that jazz too?
